The Staff Veterinarian’s primary focus is to provide technical support as a participating member of the management team, responsible for live turkey production. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining preventative medicine programs and general turkey health management; be a part of the planning of detailed projects, focusing on improving turkey health and welfare from breeder production and hatching through commercial production; and provide key support to basic processing to maximize the yield of wholesome turkey meat, while working with an entire team of skilled veterinarians and nutritionists.
1. Provide technical support as a member of the management team responsible for live turkey production. 2. Work with an entire team of skilled veterinarians and nutritionists to support company and contract turkey farms. 3. Develop and maintain preventative medicine and general turkey health management programs. 4. Plan and execute detailed projects and focusing on improving health and performance. 5. Provide key support to basic processing to maximize the yield of wholesome turkey meat 6. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Discipline, responsibility, and motivation 2. A forward thinking attitude and strong organizational skills 3. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability 4. Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills 5. A pattern of initiative and leadership 6. Successful candidates must have a DVM degree from an AVMA accredited institution and have or be eligible for veterinary licensure.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Previous experience in poultry production
