Work as a member of the faculty in School of Agriculture in the area of poultry science with an appointment consisting of a combination of research, teaching, and outreach & service. Participate in the graduate program providing a Ph.D. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Agriculture. Teach undergraduate classes in poultry science. Procure grants, contracts, and other funding to support scholarly research in live production, biosecurity, food safety, animal nutrition, or other related fields of poultry science. Provide leadership and strategic planning to establish a statewide poultry outreach program through collaborative relationships and education programs with Tennessee poultry industry, University of Tennessee Cooperative Extension, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Tennessee Farm Bureau, USDA, other agencies and organizations. Provide support to poultry programs in counties, participate in the collaborative work with Tennessee Poultry Association and other organizations, and participate in state, regional and national poultry meetings and conferences. Mentor students for competitive career placement within the industry. Provide assistance with other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate experiential learning and provide effective academic and career advising to students.
Two years professional experience in poultry science.
Experience in program development and evaluation of program results.
Demonstrated skills in the ability to develop partnerships and collaborations.
Ability to deliver courses via distance/online learning platforms
