The Poultry Science Department at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to work both independently and as part of a team to conduct scientific research in the area of broiler nutrition. The individual selected for the position will be expected to help identify relevant questions, design and implement experiments, conduct statistical analyses of the results, publish manuscripts in scientific journals, present research findings at professional meetings, prepare proposals for extramural funding of the research program, and teach a course in poultry nutrition to undergraduate and graduate students. This is a benefit eligible, non-tenure track position. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with a possibility of continuance up to a maximum of three years depending on performance and funding availability.
The minimum qualification is an earned Ph.D. in Poultry or Animal Sciences, or closely related field at the time employment begins. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to conduct research designed to improve nutritional programs for broilers to enhance nutrient digestibility and utilization, performance objectives, and processing yields. Selected candidates must have experience working with poultry, analyzing data sets, and manuscript preparation and publication. The individual selected for the position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
